Beauty Blender
The famous beauty blender brand has finally came out with a new accessory for your beloved Beauty Blender. The brand has came out with new beauty blender cases. for those of you who do not know what a Beauty Blender is, it is basically a foam sponge used to apply makeup. The sponged is normally used damp because of its incredible ability to hold water. It evenly distributes the perfect amount of product on to your face without leaving any lines. They are shaped like a teardrop making it difficult to place in a spot without it rolling off onto the floor or rolling all over the place. That’s why people that use it are so exited to know that after years, the brand has finally made a case for it.
Meanwhile, other love this new accessory others are raising some concern about how hygienic it really is. People are saying that because the makeup sponge is used damp, storing it in the Beauty Blender case would be a bad idea because it can grow bacteria while in the case. Others argue that you can first let your beauty blender dry off then put in the case, but lets be honest, no body has time to wait around until the Beauty Blender is completely dry just to put it away. The case does have openings but the case is only big enough to fit the blender when its in its small state and not damp.
Hopefully, in the near future the brand will upgrade their cases to fit the Beauty Blender when it is damp. I think that would be a lot more convenient specially for people who do not have time to wait around for it to dry. I usually just place my beauty blender on top of a plastic makeup holder and let it dry there until the next time I use it. There it can freely dry and will not grow bacteria or become nasty and stained. What are your thoughts, will you be getting a Beauty Blender case? COMMENT, LIKE & SUBSCRIBE !

One Wipe Away
applying makeup is important, but removing it is just as important. A lot of people that wear makeup struggle with this even though it is a very simple task. Some are too tired to take it off after work or school, others simply might not have the time to take it off when they should. Usually you would just cleanse your face and follow with your regular skin care routine, but if you’re one of those people that gets caught up doing other things and just forgets to remove your make up, don’t worry there are other alternatives.
You always want to make sure you remove makeup before bed after along day at work or at school. Not removing it can get very messy, it can get all over your pillow cases causing your pores to become clogged which then results in break outs. Bacteria grows from the makeup on your face then transfers over to the pillow cases. Then other nights when your face is clean and you lay on your pillow cases they will be filled with bacteria. Makeup will also stain your pillow cases specially stubborn foundation, eyeliner, and mascara that are very difficult to remove. Forgetting to remove your makeup can harm the overall health of your skin, causing it to become dry and dull.
There’s an easy solution to that problem, you have the option of cleansing as I mentioned earlier, but if that is not convenient you can use makeup removing wipes. The ones I usually go for are from the brand Neutrogena. They come in a very convenient and resalable packaging. This makes it easy to store anywhere in your home or to take with you on the go. Makeup removing wipes are a great solution to ensuring you remove your makeup because its fast and easy. With just one wipe you can get most of your makeup off including foundation, mascara and many other products. The next time you’re thinking about calling it a night without taking your makeup off just think of all the bacteria growing on your face and just grab a makeup removing wipe.

Ready, SET, Go!
Have you ever thought of what is the best ways of setting your makeup so that it stays put all day? well there are many ways of achieving this. You can extend the wear of your makeup by applying a primer on your face as a base. This will prep your skin for makeup application and it gives foundation something to stick to rather than just sticking to your bare face. You can also use a facial mist or facial setting spray. More and more makeup brands are starting to come out with their own line of setting sprays. Benefit cosmetics has a very popular one called “All Nighter” setting spray. This setting spray will really set your makeup in place so you don’t have to touch up during the day.
When you apply makeup and you skip using a primer, it becomes essential that you use a setting spray if you don’t want to look like your face is melting away. Specially during the summer when it can be very humid and uncomfortably hot. when you wear makeup without using a setting spray it causes your skin to produce excess oil, that in combination with foundation that is not set can be a bad mixture for your face. It can cause you to look sweaty and can even leave nasty makeup stains on your clothes. It can also cause your skin to become irritated to the point where you develop acne breakout and heat bumps.
I would recommend using a setting spray from the Mario Badesku collection. These setting sprays don’t only set your makeup, but over time it can improve the quality of your skin. Using this setting spray will ensure that your makeup stays on your face all day and prevent it from producing excess oil that causes you to break out. This will also help keep the makeup on your face but off your clothes and trust me getting makeup stains out of your clothes is the worse. You can find a variety of setting sprays at Sephora and Ulta including the one I mentioned earlier. Macy’s also carries Mario Badesku products :). Which setting sprays work best for you guys? Shine Bright Like a Diamond
Highlighter is one of my all time favorite makeup products, since it became a must have in every girls makeup bag. The purpose of wearing highlighter is to draw light to a specific area of the face. Highlighting is a big part of contouring, when you highlight you also have to contour in order to create shadows that will make the area of the face you just highlighted look natural and more noticeable. During the last few years, highlighters have become a best seller. Before the highlighters sold where very limited and one dimensional. Now they come in a variety of formulas, bases, and undertones, some are made with shimmer or glitter. This is great because now with the new shades and tones that companies are selling, there’s a shade for every skin color out there. Highlighter can make your cheekbones look deeper, it can give your lips the illusion of having lip injections when applied on your cupids bow. It can also be used in your brow bone to frame your face and in the inner corners of your eyes to make your eyes appear bigger/awake. some people use it to mix it into their foundation to get an all over glow to their skin, which makes them look youthful.
It can be easy to eventually get highlighter happy and use too much. Then you’ll be going from looking flattering to looking like a oily, shiny piece of metal. wearing too much highlighter can cause you to look way to shiny, which is something that you definitely do not want. In addition, it can also bring light to areas of your face that you do not want to bring too much attention to, like large pores, dull/dry skin, hyperpigmentation, and many other skins problems. Lastly wearing too much highlighter can also cause your skin to break out by clogging your pores with dirt and impurities that come from the highlighter formula itself. Knowing this, people still choose to go over board with highlighting, but I can give you some tips on how to keep everything under control.
First, if you are one of those people that can get highlighter crazy, make sure to cleanse and exfoliate your face twice a day. This will help your skin stay clean and balanced while preventing your pores from being clogged. You can also try purchasing a makeup brush that is solely for highlighting. I recently just bought one and it helps control the amount of product you pick up, helping you control the amount that goes on your face. you can get high end brushes at beauty stores like Sephora and Ulta, but if you’re on a budget you can get brushes from your local drug store that work just as good. One brand in particular that I would recommend and that is also very affordable is “real techniques”. Their brushes are amazing and so affordable, it really is a great buy! Sleep Deprivation
Sleep deprivation is something that many teenagers and young adults experience. When people don’t receive the sleep that they need, in order for their bodies to be well rested, it can seriously affect their health. It can increase the chances of people developing illnesses such as depression, suicidal ideation, obesity, and problems with school performance. The rate becomes even higher amongst people that sleep six hours or less every night. The time people spend on social media has a lot to do with why a lot of them suffer from sleep deprivation and other sleeping disorders. Most people now have smart phones where they can easily have access to their social media pages. This makes the actual phones a major contributor of poor sleeping patterns. Studies have shown that the light emitted from most electronic screens can disrupt circadian rhythms. This ends up delaying the release of melatonin and causes people to have sleep disorders.
As you can see, not receiving the right amount of sleep can leave your health in pretty bad shape. Depression is something that many people suffer from and can be very difficult to overcome. having suicidal ideations can be life threatening and can also take a long time for people to recover from. Obesity is also something that you can develop when you don’t receive enough sleep. Obesity has been found to cause people hypertension/high blood pressure, Dyslipidemia which is an abnormal concentration of fat in the bloodstream,Type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease, sleep apnea, and respiratory problems. It is not guaranteed because a person is obese, that they are going to suffer from these health problems. Its more so that it makes the likelihood of developing any one of them extremely high. In many situations this can lead to a person becoming disabled or it can even cause death.
That’s why is very important to make sure that you receive the right amount of sleep every night. When ever you know is time to go to bed ensure you develop a routine, where you put your phone down and concentrate on only falling asleep. Your phone can be a big distraction and plays a major role in sleep deprivation. Something that works for me is taking a vitamin supplement form of Melatonin twenty minutes before bedtime. This will help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. You can also try turning off all of your electronic devices so that you’re not tempted to constantly look at the latest notification you have received on any one of your social media accounts. Listening to music can also help, but most importantly developing a sleep routine is essential to receiving a good night sleep. Next time you’re up scrolling at two in the morning will you be doing the right thing by putting your phone down?

Digital Footprint
If you have decided to engage in social media platforms, then you must be very careful that you watch the digital data you’re leaving behind. This data can consist of all of the different websites a person has visited, photos and videos that have been shared, and just overall personal information shared online. Once this information has been shared on the Internet it is nearly impossible to remove it. This can cause individuals serious problems when the wrong information or too much is shared. Many colleges and employers try to look for peoples digital footprint to get a sense of who they truly are and if people leave an unprofessional trail behind, it will affect them in the long run. The digital footprint that people leave behind can also lead to things like identity theft and many more types of fraud. The reason for that is, people are sharing personal information without any concern about what other people can do with it. Some people go as far as sharing their full name, date of birth, phone number, and address on social media which can be dangerous.
People don’t realize that their disregards for this matter is not good and that this can really impact their life negatively. Identity theft is by far one of the most serious problems individuals can encounter in result of sharing too much personal information online. It is very difficult to get through and its definitely something that should not be taken likely. Having your identity stolen can cause you to have terrible credit. Once a fraudster gets a hold of your personal information like your social security number, they can open up credit cards in your name and create thousands of dollars in debt under your name. It can become so bad that the victim can even end up in jail. You never know what a person will do with your information, therefore you can expect the worse. There have been cases where victims where not able to fill their own prescriptions due to identity theft; this can be life threatening. That’s why people should try their best to make sure that they are not sharing too much personal information online, you never know whos lurking.
Ways in which you can avoid this is by ensuring that you always keep your passwords private and update them frequently. Making sure that you don’t share unnecessary personal information on your social media networks is key to preventing this problem. If you’re ever a victim of identity theft make sure that you check all of your bank account balances and lock any debit cards linked to them. Make sure you place a fraud alert with the national credit reporting agency so that an investigation is started right away. I would also recommend people check their credit reports frequently in case an account comes up that they do not recognize. the sooner fraudulent activity is recognized the sooner disputes can be filed and people can be on their way to fixing this problem. What would you do to keep your information safe?

Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying is a problem that people of all ages can experience, it’s not just limited to happening to teenagers and young adults. It can consist of aggressive behavior and multiple threatening acts meant to hurt people through social media platforms. Usually people that engage in cyberbullying are successful at it because they can hide behind a social media network account and not be held accountable for their abusive behavior. The truth is that it has become so common, that a study showed that 20-40 percent of teenagers have reported having been victims of this kind of bullying.
This issue can result in serious problems, that can be difficult to solve and can be irreversible. People who experience cyberbullying are at an increased risk of developing anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Bullying has also been related to many other physical health problems like stomachaches, sleep problems, headaches, tension, bed-wetting, fatigue, and poor appetite. People who experience this tend to suffer through this silently, some don’t know where or how to get help while others take very drastic measures to stop the social media abuse. For example, as a result of cyberbullying someone can become depressed to the point where they think that there is no other way out, but to commit suicide. That is the case for a lot of people going through this problem. having low self esteem due to this can affect every aspect of a persons life. Just like depression it can prevent someone from going to work or school and achieving goals in their life. Additionally, depressed individuals with low self esteem are at a higher risk of substance abuse and violent behavior.
One good way to stand up against cyberbullying is to set boundaries with the people that you choose to communicate with, Specially the ones that you don’t know personally, because more than likely those will be the people that will easily try to exert power over you and bully you through social media. Be very cautious about profiles that don’t have too many photos or information and the ones that don’t have a profile picture at all. A profile that doesn’t have a main picture is a big red flag and if you have any users like that as your friends on any social media platform, I would recommend you delete/block them. Don’t be afraid to use your voice and protect your feelings from any hurtful words people might tell you, its not true and you should not take it personally.
What are other ways to fight back against cyberbullying that don’t result in a person having to use hurtful words to reply back? Let me know!

Internet Addiction & Social Media
Its very clear that The internet and social media have become a major part of our lives and has changed the way we communicate and receive information. Yes, having access to the internet has given us unlimited access to any information we might want to know and it has also made it very easy to constantly stay in touch with our friends and family. The internet and social media are very beneficial, but I think a lot of us use it excessively and that’s when it becomes a problem in our lives more than it is beneficial to us. A lot of people have become very dependent on social media sites and have even developed an internet addiction without even knowing it. The constant need to always look at your Facebook or Instagram newsfeed is not good. Internet addiction is defined as “uncontrollable use of the Internet that results in excessive time consumption or social dysfunction”. Using the internet too much or logging into your social media sites so frequently is not normal. It becomes extremely time consuming and it causes for people to become less social. How can that possibly be good when humans need social interaction and social relationships to be happy and function properly.
Internet addiction is similar to any other addiction, in teenagers its been linked to depression, self injurious behaviors, sleep depravation, high alcohol and tobacco use, and obesity. In addition to that, studies have found microstructural changes in adolescent brains that suffer from internet addiction, including alterations in neurotransmitters. I think that internet addiction is a very serious problem not only in teens, but in people from all ages and backgrounds, yet we all just still ignore it. I know for a fact that the internet has taken a bad toll on my sleeping patterns. The more and more I use the internet to check on my social media sites, the more and more my sleeping patterns have gone spiraling out of control. The more I experience sleep disturbances the more I believe that there has to be a correlation between these things. There are times when I know I’m tired and sleepy, but the need to want to know what others are posting will keep me up for hours. Then the next day I’m a hot mess running on a bunch of caffeine, just to repeat the same routine the very next day.
There are many solutions to internet addiction and I will share some of those solutions with you so that you know how to keep your internet usage balanced and healthy for you. The main thing to practice while trying to control your internet usage is to practice self control. I cannot emphasize on this enough. Blocking out distracting websites like Facebook and Instagram is key to controlling your internet usage and preventing internet addiction. practice telling yourself that you will not look at your news feed in those websites for maybe three hours, then after those three hours pass, take a peek then block them out again and stay consistent. If self control doesn’t work you can blacklist the sites that you are obsessed with and only bring them back to your whitelist after you have met your goal for the day to not get on it for a certain period of time. You can also try concentrating or having focus time on a specific task. Maybe while you’re at work you can tell your self that you will focus on work solely until lunch time, then when lunch time is here you can go ahead and check the websites that you want to. For me, self control works best and that’s what I would recommend that people do. Blocking out things and setting standards for yourself is what I think will work best for people getting over internet addiction or just trying to control their internet usage.
