The Institute of International Education is pleased to announce that funding for the Freeman-ASIA Program has been approved for two years, beginning with the Summer 2011 term.  The application system will open in January 2011, and grants will be offered for Summer, Semester, and Academic Year terms.

Detailed information will be available on December 1, 2010 on the program website at: http://www.iie.org/programs/freeman-asia

The Freeman-ASIA Program, generously supported by the Freeman Foundation and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), aims to increase the number of U.S. undergraduates who study in East and Southeast Asia by providing them with the information and financial assistance they will need.  Award amounts vary from up to $3,000 for a summer program, up to $5,000 for a semester/quarter program, and up to $7,000 for an academic year program.  From 2001 to 2009, Freeman-ASIA provided scholarships for more than 4,000 U.S. undergraduate students to study in East and Southeast Asia.
