South Africa Study Abroad Travel Course

Biology plans to offer South Africa study abroad travel course again in Summer, 2018. The course is BIOL 490 Biology of South African Wildlife. In addition to the students who enroll in the course, we usually have room for non-students who want to make the trip.

The itinerary will include Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Swaziland, KwaZulu-Natal and the iSimangaliso Wetlands near St. Lucia on the Indian Ocean. You’ll have a chance to observe wild animals in their native habitat and to interact with people from a variety of cultures.

The class will travel in the early summer “pre-“ session from May 12-June 4, but it is possible to arrange other arrival/departure dates for non-students.

The url for the course web site is
http://www.people.iup.edu/luciano/AWSMAIN.htm and there are a lot of photos from 2017 on the Biology Department’s Facebook page.

If you are interested in traveling with the IUP group-please let Dr. Carl Luciano know. His email is luciano@iup.edu. The 2018 trip will be his eighth with IUP students, but he does not plan to lead any more trips after this one.
