Animal Rescue League Wildlife Center Summer Internships

The Animal Rescue League Wildlife Center in Pittsburgh is seeking students who are interested in working as rehabilitation assistants.   We are a fully licensed wildlife rehabilitation center that treats over 2,000 animals per year.  Our mission is to release healthy animals back into the wild.


The internship would include learning ot give exams, prescribe
treatments, animal enrichment, behavior training, infant feeding
methods, necropsy techniques, physical therapy, daily husbandry and
nutrition for various species.

Interns become integrally involved in many aspects of working at a wildlife rehabilitation center.

A commitment of 20 hours per week is required.  The center is open seven
days per weeks, so the schedule would be very flexible.  The summer
semester runs from mid-May to late August.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills the ability to use
basic computer software, and be able to work well alone as well as in
groups.

Students in the biological and environmental science departments are preferred.
