CFHI Global Health Rotations: New Program- Implementing Universal Healthcare from Highland to Coastal Ecuador

The
Ecuadorian government is quietly making a bold attempt to provide universal
healthcare to its culturally and geographically diverse population.  Are they
succeeding? You be the judge as you are given unprecedented access to key
aspects of the healthcare system in both the capital of Quito as well as rural
areas of costal Ecuador.

provides global service-learning programs for those pursuing
study
related to
health
or
medicine.  Participants go on 1 to 3 month placements with physicians in
developing countries working in underserved communities and
taking
medical and conversational Spanish classes
.
  Participants rotate through local clinics and hospitals, attend medical
lectures, and become immersed in the healthcare system of th
e
community. CFHI has 20+ sites throughout Bolivia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, and
South Africa.
