Film Studies Intern

Eligibility
Applicants must be English majors or minors in good academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA) with an interest in film and/or marketing campaign development and execution.

Duties
The Film Studies Intern will undertake the following writing-intensive tasks:

  • Solicit film-showing suggestions from undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Schedule, promote, and create attendance vouchers for these film showings
  • Identify and promote film showings from other instructors and programs around campus.
  • Help schedule and find funding (internal and external) for bringing guest artists and speakers to campus.
  • Promote English department film studies courses.
  • Improve and maintain a film, tv, video game blog.
  • Promote/solicit reader response to blog.

Red Flag Poetry Intern

Eligibility
Applicants must be 1) English majors or minors with 2) an interest in poetry, editing, and social media promotion who have 3) a minimum 3.0 GPA. (Applicants who do not meet these requirements are also welcome to contact the coordinator with their qualifications.)

Duties

  • Coordinate and moderate social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Soundcloud)
  • Regularly update RedFlagPoetry.com and Redflagpress.weebly.com blog pages
  • Assist with marketing, advertising, and promotion for Red Flag Poetry and Red Flag Press
  • Organize and update event calendar
  • Manage flow of submissions to Red Flag Poetry
  • Process and invoice new subscriptions to Red Flag Poetry
  • Copyedit poems for Red Flag Poetry Express and Red Flag Poetry postcards
  • Help prepare Red Flag Press editions
  • Aid in the general expansion of Red Flag’s readership

Alumni Stories Intern, Recruitment Committee

Applicants must be English majors or minors interested in alumni outreach, PR, and/or event organizing and a minimum 3.0 GPA. (Applicants who do not meet these requirements are also welcome to contact the coordinator with their qualifications.)

Duties
The Alumni Stories Intern will undertake the following tasks:

  • Compose promotional materials to solicit stories from alumni.
  • Identify points of contact with alumni.
  • Collect stories from individual alumni.
  • Compose and administer surveys collecting data on alumni experiences.
  • Coordinate alumni events.
  • Liaise with IUP alumni representative.
  • Keep weekly work log.
  • Submit internship portfolio at semester’s end.

Objectives

  • Design social media campaigns promoting the major and minor.
  • Research and compose promotional materials.
  • Update social media pages daily.
  • Develop a Best Practices Guide for social media promotion.
  • Keep weekly work log.
  • Submit an internship portfolio at semester’s end.

Objectives
