Rights at Home and Abroad:  Past, Present and Future
.
The submission deadline is April 1st and the conference will be held on April
14-15 in Kehr Union at Bloomsburg University.  Send proposals to bentzmin@bloomu.edu.

The
conference keynote,
“All
Children Are Created Equal, Too:  The Disparate Treatment of Youth Rights in the
United States,”
will be given by Travis Johnson, family law
staff attorney for The Door, on April 14 at 7 p.m.
U.S.
born young people who are sexually exploited are rarely viewed as victims by the
courts, unlike their immigrant peers.  Johnson argues that minors, who cannot
legally consent to sex with an adult, should not be charged with prostitution
and related criminal charges.
