Renowned artist Vanessa German will present a lecture at 7pm on Thursday, Feb 23 in McVitty Auditorium in Sprowls Hall. This lecture is free and open to the public.
Through visual art, poetry, and performance, Vanessa German explores African American history, the current state of race relations, her adopted Pittsburgh neighborhood of Homewood, and what one Citizen Artist can do to heal a neighborhood. Her exhibition, “Here Is For Dreaming,” is on display in Kipp Gallery through March 9, and was made possible by sponsorship from IUP Women and Gender Studies, the IUP Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement, the IUP Student Cooperative Association, the Department of Art and the College of Fine Arts.
This counts as a Visual Arts Fine Arts Event!
