Meghan Delsite, a graduate assistant in the Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement, and is putting together a student committee to help plan and implement the Official Homecoming Party in the fall semester.
Although this is an unpaid position, any student who takes this opportunity will receive valuable event planning experience because they will be involved from the ground up. They will help choose the theme, secure donations, plan games, decorations, and entertainment, and other aspects of the party.
Listed below are the requirements and expectations of the committee. I am looking for at least 10 students, but I will gladly take more. Students do not have to be from any particular college, major, organization, or year – I would like a diverse committee that will give all students a voice in their 2017 Official Homecoming Party.
Requirements:
- Must be an enrolled student in the fall 2017 semester
- Must be willing to attend the Homecoming party for its full duration, and be willing to spend several hours beforehand setting up
- Must have at least a 2.5 QPA
- Must be in good standing with the university
Expectations:
- Must be willing to attend monthly meetings for the remainder of this semester
- Must be willing to attend bimonthly meetings in the fall
- Must be willing to offer ideas about themes, prizes, games, decorations, and all other aspects of the event (and see final decisions through to completion)
- Must be willing to work with students from other organizations and staff from the Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement to put on the Official Homecoming Party
- Must be willing to sign a contract that states willingness to agree to expectations and responsibilities
