Established in June 1998 in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Foundation for IUP, the Community Volunteer Service Award recognizes the volunteer commitment demonstrated by the Foundation’s board of directors throughout the years.
This award also honors the volunteer spirit demonstrated by students at IUP who demonstrate outstanding volunteer service that reflects positively on the university and makes a difference in the lives of community residents and society as a whole.
Candidates for the award must meet the following guidelines:
- Must have earned a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of the spring 2017 semester;
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student in good academic standing at Indiana University of Pennsylvania at the time of application;
- Must be a returning full-time student in good academic standing to Indiana University of Pennsylvania for the 2017–18 academic year; and
- Must be engaged in volunteer community service that exceeds any volunteer service required as part of a class project, membership, scholarship, or other obligatory circumstance in order to be eligible for this award.
