MASS is sponsoring two Lunch and Learn events for Black History Month. Lunch and Learns provide a free meal and an opportunity to explore a topics not typically found in the classroom.
The first is on Thursday, February 14 in the MCSLE Great Room in Elkin Hall at Noon. The presentation is titled: “The Civil Rights Movement: Detangling Its Strands”. Discover how hair styles impacted the Movement. The presenter is Ms. Veta Talton.
The second is on Tuesday, February 26th in the MCSLE Great Room in Elkin Hall at Noon. It is titled: “A Love Deeper Than Water: A Sex-ploration of Black Women Writers”. Explore the ways in which the black female body has managed to shape and reshape the America’s discourses of nationalism, helping to redefine what it means to be human, black, and woman respectively in a postcolonial society. The presenter is Mr. Nedrick Patrick.
They will be providing attendance vouchers.
