The Student Association of Nutrition and Dietetics (S.A.N.D.) would like to invite you to participate in our 1st annual National Nutrition Month Chili Cook-Off! The event will take place in the HUB Susquehanna room on March 7th from 3-5pm. If you would like to show off your cooking skills, make a crockpot of chili that meets the requirements listed in the rules (all chili must include two sources of plant-based protein–see suggested list on registration form) and enter to see if yours is the best! There will be prizes awarded to the winners! The cost of entry is $20 per team. A team can consist of 1-5 people. We encourage departmental teams, student organization teams, and teams of both faculty and students. If cooking is not your forte, we could still use your help! For $1 you can come sample chili during the event and vote for your favorite recipe! Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Indiana Food Co-Op, a local initiative to increase the availability of local, healthy food (http://indianapafoodcoop.weebly.com/).
The first 20 teams to get their entry forms and fee submitted are guaranteed a spot at the event. All entry forms and entry fees are due by Tuesday, February 21st to Mrs. Julie Williams in Ackerman room 102. A copy of your recipe must be submitted by Monday, February 27th. This can be emailed to Molly Moroney, chair of the National Nutrition Month committee (m.c.moroney@iup.edu). Be sure to get your information in as soon as possible so you are guaranteed a spot in the competition!
