Open Access, what is it? How do we do it? Why does it matter? All these questions and more will be answered in this Six O’Clock Series. This talk will be held from – at the HUB in the Ohio Room.
Open access is “the free, immediate, online availability of research articles combined with the rights to use these articles fully in the digital environment.”
International Open Access Week, now in its ninth year, is an opportunity to take action in making openness the default for research to turn discoveries into better lives. This year’s theme is “Open in Action.” In keeping with this theme, this panel of IUP faculty and administrators will discuss what open access is and why they are committed to it, what steps researchers should take to share their discoveries, and why it matters.
