On Friday, November 2, 2012 the
Pittsburgh Arts Employment Partnership
will host the annual Creative Careers
Seminar from 9 am – 1:00 pm at Carnegie Mellon University. The program features a keynote address by
Channel 4 News Anchor and Sports Director Andrew Stockey and
panel
presentations on Design and Multimedia, Film & Broadcast
Media, Advertising
& Marketing, Arts Management, Public Relations, Performing
Arts, Arts
Management, Writing & Publishing, and Independent Artists. A networking session where your students will
have an opportunity to meet and speak one-on-one with
professionals in their
fields of interest will take place immediately following the
panel sessions. During the networking
portion of the program,
the opportunity to do informational interviews with panelists
will be raffled
off to several lucky attendees
Students may pre-register at the
Creative Careers website, sites.google.com/site/creativecareersseminar by October 24. They must pay the $5.00 pre-registration
fee
at the Career Development Center, 302 Pratt Hall (cash
only; correct
change is appreciated) by October 24.
Pre-registered students who do not pay by the deadline
will be charged
$10.00 at the door (cash only). On-site
registration will also be available for a fee of $10.00 (cash
only). Students at all levels are
encouraged to take
advantage of this opportunity. Professional
or
business casual dress is required.

Bus transportation will be available
from IUP to CMU. Students who wish to
take advantage must
pre-register for the seminar by October 24 and reserve their
seats by October
26 by paying a $25 deposit at the Career Development Center
(cash only; correct
change is appreciated). Deposits will be
refunded when they board the bus for the return trip to IUP.
