What is the PA Honors Development Conference?
The goal for this conference is to bring together honors students and directors/deans from across the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education in order to share ideas, discuss our programs, and facilitate better collaboration and networking throughout our honors system. We hope that the PaHDC will continue to grow for years to come and become a staple for all 14 PASSHE schools to look forward to each year.
How will the conference be set up?
The conference itself will emulate the model of the Northeast Regional Honors Conference but on a smaller scale. It will be a one-day gathering and sharing of research related to all aspects of Honors nuts and bolts. In our morning session, students will engage in a student mixer where they will participate in various icebreakers to get to know one another. These are also great activities that can be implemented for students within your own program or college. Meanwhile, faculty will participate in a get-together followed by two faculty ‘Developing in Honors’ presentations. Following that will be a Keystone Presentation, lunch and a brief tour of campus, all attendees will come together to hear student presentations.
