The anticipation was over we were heading back to the beach for Fourth of July to spend time with my whole family, but also let my dad see the island for himself. One of my favorite things about this town is that they say the island and then the mainland when referring to over the bridge. My mom and I went down three days early and then my dad arrived on Saturday. He had driven with my brother Nick, but this was the first time in five years that my mom’s entire family was vacationing together again. We celebrated things such as graduations, birthdays, and more! The whole time I was watching my dad to see if he was enjoying his time or not. I tried picking his brain, but he was pretty silent and just taking it all in.
The one day that we were on the beach I was boogie boarding with my brothers. We were all three looking out at the water and getting ready for the next wave. When all of a sudden there was a huge black animal that floated to the surface and blew out air. We turned and swam to shore as fast as we could looking at our family screaming as well. My brother Nick and I caught a wave in, while my brother max was behind us still paddling. We were all screaming and when we arrived back on shore I knelt down and kissed the sand. My entire family of about 20 people were running down the beach trying to discover what was out there. People on the beach started running with us and because they saw it too. I was recording and hoping that I got some footage. To this day we still do not know what was in the water, and to top it all off you could not see anything in the video I had taken. What would you have done if this was you?
