Don’t stop believing

Probably one of the most notable pop songs ever written Don’t stop believin by Journey released in 1981 is even more popular now than it was in its hay day.  When it was first released the song only hit #8 on the billboard charts. Crazy right?! Who can imagine the all time rock anthem no one can avoid singing when it comes on only hitting number 8! Why is it though that this simple four chord song for some reason intrigues and makes listeners feel something. A sense of hope maybe? Or maybe something different for each person. The following link lists the lyrics and also has a recording of the song which shed some light for  me personally on the lyrics I’ve sang so many times. Check it out!

Though some may think that this song is over played, or past its prime it is still a hit.  Journey an just an American rock band with their album escape band nailed it with this song and it continues to be played. This hit is actually the most downloaded song in the 20th century, and also was made a hit for again by the hit TV show Glee.  If you haven’t seen that video check it out below!  Also I’ve included the link to the original video as well of the band rocking out. Any thoughts why this song has become such an anthem that everyone not only knows but almost always sings when it comes on? Check it out!
