Aspect Ratio for your phones

Have you ever watched something online and turned your camera horizontally to turn it full screen, but it just looked cropped and left a lot of empty space? This is due to improper aspect ratio properties for the video content. Watching something where the topic really interests us, but the video is improperly formatted can really take our attention and mood away from it as it’s unattractive to our eyes. Most of us have the luxury of a camera on our phones today, and ones that are pretty good, too. When recording content or video using the camera on your phone, switch the orientation of the phone horizontally so the camera gets the full wide angle view of your subject. As a former professor of mine always said during his classes, “Our eyes our placed side by side on our faces, not up and down. Don’t film your camera like our eyes are stacked like a cheeseburger”, this really helps in making that professional looking video that we see nowadays with successful motion pictures like High Flying Bird, which was filmed entirely with an iPhone 8. The tools for such projects are at our disposal, so show us what you can do with yours. Teamwork makes the dream work.
