Lauren Amicone

Lauren Amicone is a full-time student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. There, she is a  computer science major, with a track in software engineer, and a minor in communications graphics and applied statistics. She learns specifically about coding, graphic design, and statistics.

Lauren currently works as a dining server at a retirement home. This work caters to a demographic that needs specific care, and she never says no to the residents. The work entails more than serving food for residents; it includes setting up events for the residents, taking the time to walk residents back to their rooms, cooking, and cashiering. This job perfected her customer service skills, for the retirement home is open to the public; thus, Lauren encounters all kinds of people and has learned how to react to a variety of scenarios.

Lauren has been elected as both Parliamentarian and Scholarship Chair within her academic honor fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi. Consequently, these positions advanced her leadership, time management, and attention to detail. Furthermore, by taking on these challenges, Lauren was granted the chance to collaborate and lead committees to plan and hold events.

Lauren always had an interest in computers, for she was always tinkering and learning more all the way from her first desktop to her current plans to build her own PC. This being so, her first coding class, a rarity in a small country town like hers, solidified her love for coding and technology.
