As a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, adult sports referee, front desk supervisor, Thomas Mahouski is a man of many hats.  He joined the YMCA of Indiana County in June of 2014 as a member, and soon after gained a passion for spreading their message of brotherhood for all races, nations, and faiths.  He became an employee in September of 2015 first as a referee, then as a certified personal trainer, and finally as a front desk supervisor.  One of his clients urged him to finish his degree in communications media at IUP, so he obtained an internship in communications marketing at the YMCA. He has since successfully completed his internship, and has graduated as of August 2016.

Before becoming a YMCA employee, Thomas was the assistant manager at a local movie theater.  He was responsible for building, promoting, and screening films to the public.  During his time there, Thomas engaged with many different types of people.  This is where his respect for all of his neighbors stemmed from.

Apart from working at the YMCA, Thomas Mahouski has an appetite for the electronic arts.  He enjoys creating, playing, watching, and streaming video games.  Thomas currently has many designed levels that have received high ratings from his peers in the video game world.   He believes the creativity, reflexes, and problem solving required to successfully play video games will give him a “jump” on his competition.

Thomas Mahouski was born in Houston, Texas but raised in Indiana, Pennsylvania.  He was the middle child which allowed him to learn and live life at his own pace without too much parental interference. He graduated from Indiana Senior High in 2003 and went on to study communications media at IUP where he made the deans list in 2004. He graduated from IUP in 2016, after one of the longest “semester breaks” in the history of the program.
