Biography

From a young age I have found photography to be one of the most fascinating things on this planet. I can still remember at age twelve saving my allowance in hopes for my first digital camera. That thing was like a brick. A pink nikon with a big screen, that I could chuck across a room and it would do no harm. At age fourteen I knew my passion was taking me somewhere. My love for macro photography derived from that year. Getting the chance to photograph something so small and being able to enlarge it for the world to see means a lot to me for some reason. I have always found beauty in the smallest of things, the ones that never get a second look.

For the past two years I have held a full time job while finishing my degree online. I have gotten the chance to work as an intern at a children’s camp and also become very involved with my church. I enjoy doing local outreach activities like working through the food bank and helping with events held at the schools in our inner city. I also recently became a member in our Kid Life Ministry where I get the chance to teach and guide the kids on Sundays. I have been working full time for Timbar Packaging and Display, which is a leading manufacturer of corrugated packaging. Timber creates packaging for many major companies across the world. For example, Canon, Hanes, Nestle, and a fun one for me is Spinbrush because I will never have to buy a toothbrush again.

While attending IUP I have been lucky enough to learn about my passion. I have learned about the history of photography, the basics every newbie should know, and the techniques professionals swear by. I also had a piece of my best work showcased in the University’s museum during the “Capturing the Moment” exhibit.

Today,I have been blessed with the chance to work as an intern at WJTL 90.3 radio. So far I have photographed their summer events and concerts and I have to say this experience has been exhilarating. I can only pray and hope that this passion of mine takes me somewhere one day. For now I am taking it one day at a time, capturing the most beautiful moments through this lens.
