A good way to travel is by renting a car or using public transportations or even by bike. Stop by local vendors to enjoy authentic cuisines and get a taste of the culture Rio De Janeiro has to offer.
How will I rest? I would recommend a cheaper more run down hotel only because you will not be spending that much time in your hotel. You will want to be out experiencing all that you can. This will also be a smart way to save money and put more towards your experiences. Hotels can range from $50-$250, so be smart when booking room.

Portuguese is the most commonly spoken language so brush up on common phrases like hello, thank you, and help. Most natives will be more then helpful to you but make sure you are self-sufficient in your travels.
How will I stay safe? It is recommended that you get the Typhoid and Hepatitis A and B shots. However be aware of insect infections so carry around bug spray. Also take antimalarial pills for extra protection. Rabies is also a smart shot to get when traveling to forge in counties. Stay away from the local animals for this reason.
