Difficults clients- everyone has them. Dealing with them can be a struggle sometimes and can make you question your career. Let’s talk about how to deal with them in an efficient way.
Many clients have specific wants when it comes to graphic design or photography work. It is best to remain calm and work out the issue with them. You want to satisfy the customer even if it means getting annoyed.
A helpful tip is to limit the client to a few free changes. After that, charge a small fee for changes to discourage back and forth changing things. You don’t want to waste time, but you also want them to be happy with what you have created. It is best to come to an agreement beforehand to ensure a quality experience. This tip was given to me in one of my first graphic design courses in college. Personally, I like to give two to three free changes, then charge a few dollars for each additional adjustment. Typically, we don’t make it to that point. It makes both our lives so much easier in the end.
Always remember to be polite when asked to make a change. You can also defend why you created something the way you did. If they still don’t like it, try to meet in the middle. Also, be thorough from the beginning so you completely understand what the client is looking for. This should save you from too many changes from the start.
