So in the video today, I talked about Reentry and some of the systems that are used to help with reentry. As talked about before in this blog, reentry is to help an inmate get back into the community easily. Some inmates will go out and live a really good life after being put into the prison system, but some go out and do the same thing over and end up back there. We are trying to stop this from happening so we are trying to help inmates from reoffending.

We are doing all that we can to stop reoffending from happening. Our prison systems are becoming to crowded, and it is becoming a problem not only for the inmates but for the correctional institutions also. Finding programs to help with this is the hardest things to do, but thanks to GTL we are finding ways to help these inmates live a better life. GTL is a program that is offering inmates educational programs and payment services through an iPad in the prison. The iPad includes many different apps and programs to help the inmate live a better life while incarcerated, and after, when they are back in the community.

Being able to help people live a better life after being in prison for either a short time or a long time is we what the DOC is striving to do. They are trying to help them better their lives and hopefully never see them within the prison system again.
