Have you ever thought about what is going on in a criminal’s mind? As a teenager, I have always thought what makes a criminal’s mind different than ours? Do they have a disorder or are they just brought up into the wrong atmosphere as children? It’s different with everyone, you can be brought up in terrible situations or you can have a certain disorder or “personality” that makes you commit these certain crimes.

There are multiple different things that can cause these criminal behaviors. From reading many articles and studying Abnormal Psychology, I have learned that brain tumors can ultimately sometimes cause people to commit these heinous crimes. Another thing is a disorder that’s called antisocial personality disorder. This is a disorder that cause the person to not know the different between right and wrong.

I’ve always loved learning about the criminal mind and finding what actually causes them to go through with these things. It is interesting the different things that causes people to do these awful things. When looking at criminals though we need to start researching and seeing what is happening with these people and why it continues to happen. Look more into their past or into the cognitive ways of life. Some people that are committing these crimes are coming from families that have committed crimes their entire lives. We are blaming these people for doing these things (sometimes it is them) but we really aren’t looking into them or their lives.

Within the psychology field they have already started taking a look into the minds of criminals to try and figure out what is going on. My belief is we really have to take a look into their lives and see what is going on. Yes, they should be locked up for their behaviors but we need to figure out why this continues to happen. Growing up around gangs, theft, or just criminal behavior in general can cause someone to continue to do these things. We aren’t really studying this problem fully and we really need to.

What do you guys think causes criminal behavior? Do you think it can be health problems or growing up in the wrong family? It is different across all platforms and with different people. There’s never going to be a full solution to this problem, but we can begin to look and see what is causing these issues. As always, like, comment, share, and subscribe!
