Do you know what it’s like to go to work and have to worry everyday if you’re going to make it home to your family. Waking up, throwing on a uniform, and hoping nothing bad happens to you. There are men and women out there every day that go out to serve and don’t come home. There have been multiple stories of officers going out in the line of duty and not making it home.
There are always going to be good cops and bad cops. One officers does something bad and everyone turns their backs on law enforcement. People are believing once they see one bad cop do something wrong, that all cops are bad. The only things that are shown on television are the ones where there is a controversial problem or them doing wrong. In July of 2019 there were 7 officers that were asked to leave a Starbuck’s in Arizona. They were asked to leave by employee who said a customer did not feel safe, because of them being there.
We need to start sharing the good that cops do, you can see some of these things on social media. On the news though it’s a different story, they are only showing the things that cause problems. We need to stop showing all the bad sides of the police force, because it’s not all bad. There are good officers out there that are getting hate and backlash, they aren’t getting looked at as the good officers that they are.
From my perspective some cops are doing bad things, but some have to do these “bad things” to protect not only themselves or their partners but our community. I’m testing to be a Pennsylvania State Trooper so it’s difficult to step into a carry field where a lot of people see you as no good. These officer’s are going out every day to protect you. They are protecting the people who even hate them or talk bad about them.
So what are you guy’s opinion? Do you think all cops should be looked at as bad people, or should we separate the good from the bad? Do you believe that the cops are doing bad things to protect their selves and the community, or just to do it because they have a badge? As always, please like, comment, share and subscribe!
