First airing in 2016, Public Pictures Theater is an IUP-TV show run by students and features panel discussions about films in the public domain. The show is IUP’s answer to Turner Classic Movies. Hosts and IUP professors James Lenze and Jay Start talk about the importance of students running the show and the opportunities it gives them. This story by The Swoop also shows the community’s involvement in the running of the show, with some episodes featured at the Jimmy Stewart Museum and a Christmas Special sponsored by Insomnia Cookies. Public Pictures Theater has featured movies including “Charade,” “House on Haunted Hill,” and “The Lady Vanishes.” The show airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on channel 6 locally and on campus at 20.1.
