Beginning in Duncansville in 1950 by Delbert Meadows, The Meadows has been a Blair County favorite for generations. This story features an interview with Richard Meadows, grandson of the founder and current Meadows president, as he explains the history of the frozen custard chain. Along with specialty machines and a secret recipe, The Meadows’ focus is on the community, who in turn helps create new flavors. The student film crew at The Swoop also talk with Steven Gardner, president of Meadows Franchising, who has helped franchise roughly 30 stores across six states and Australia.
