Born and raised in a small town in central Pennsylvania, I didn’t always know exactly what I wanted to do when I got older. Though I had many interests, I knew that I wanted to do something that made a difference. I originally began attending IUP as a communications media major in the fall of 2012. I really find the theory and thought process involved when designing projects for my communications media classes quite interesting. Though I really like my previous major, I have also always liked technology. Which is why computer science was an obvious choice for me when I decided I needed a change.
I really enjoy the journey that I have taken since making the decision to change majors. The impact that technology has had on society has been absolutely enormous and rapid. With such a quick surge in technology, many people are left with rather limited knowledge of the inner functions of computers, even though they rule almost every aspect of their lives. I used to be that person, I would even still consider myself that person. The world of computer science is extremely vast, there is no possible way to master it all. That is why I love it, I am always challenged and as soon as one door closes, another one opens. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
