Children’s Advertisements

Hello and welcome to my next blog in the series, Children’s Advertisements. Many children have short attention spans, so this makes it difficult to get their attention to watch an ad. These types of ads started in the early 20th century. Today I will be talking about the four ways that you can make a good advertisement for kids. I hope you enjoy and learn a lot from this blog.

The first way is by “pulling heartstrings”. When you use emotional pulls, it tends to make the person more attached to the focus of the product. With children you can use stuffed animals to grab their emotions. Any non-living thing that talks will also have their attention. By doing this you can easily get them to fall in love with your product.

The next way is by “telling a really good story”. Kids love stories and can pay attention to them with their imagination. This makes it easy to give a toy a real life for the child toy enjoy. This way when the kid gets the product that you are selling it will already have a past for the child to give it a future. Some toys are created based off child TV shows. This also makes it a great way to sell toys because if the child loves the character on the show, then that will make it more popular as a toy.

The third way is by “featuring celebrities or star power”. Actors and influencers have a great amount of persuasion for anyone. Kids especially look up to people as role models and this makes whatever they say worth buying. For example, if a child’s favorite character off a show is on an advertisement, then this will make it easy for the child to spot and notice what they are selling. What the character is wearing, using, eating, etc. will make the child want to use it too because they look up to that person as a role model.

The fourth and last way is by “showing perfect family fun”. When children see other families having fun this makes them want to have fun as well. If the family is playing a board game and they are laughing and cheering, it will reflect how great the game is and how much fun it would be for the child as well. This is also great to put on the packaging of games. When the child walks through the store it will catch their eye and make it more appealing to look at rather than just a title.

In summary, having attention grabbing ads for children is great because they have short attention spans. Today in my blog I talked about the four different ways to make a great ad for children. I hope you enjoyed and learned a lot in this blog. Make sure to comment below if I missed anything or if you have anything to say about children’s ads.
