Hello and welcome back to my third blog in the series. Today’s blog will cover how gaming companies run their advertisements. The first video game was made in 1958. Throughout this blog I will talk about gaming consoles, phone games, and pc games. I hope this helps you learn more about gaming advertisements.

First, I will talk about gaming consoles. The most popular gaming consoles are PlayStation and Xbox. These are a way to interact with friends when playing video games. By using this form of gaming, it helps you talk to your friends through a headset. With both consoles, they show vibrant colors and amazing effects to make the game they are advertising more marketable. They also have their own memorable sounds so when someone hears it, they think of that gaming console. Logos are a big thing as well. They help so when you go to a store or see the packaging you see that logo and it makes it easier to find.

The second topic is phone games. These are very popular because most people who own a phone have games on them. The most amount of advertising that I see personally is from other apps and games. When you go on social media sometimes you see ads on the side, bottom, pop ups, etc. This is a great marketing technique because this way no one can avoid looking at the ads. Gaming companies will pay other games or apps to put ads up on their site. This way it is a “win win” for both sides. The app gets paid and the gaming company paying gets their game on the market. In my opinion, one of the best ways to market a game is by putting a pop-up ad and making the game interactive. This way the audience must playthe game and it gets them addicted and wanting to play more so they want to download the app. It also helps if on the game you are playing that you make it a reward to watch an ad.

The third topic is pc gaming. This is very similar to gaming consoles since it is a part of the console family, but the pc has some differences. One difference is instead of a controller you use the keyboard. You can also add mods much easier with the pc. Mods are ways to make the game different from the original. It is kind of like a hacking code. You can go online and play free games with a pc, and it will still save all the data for you. With this type of gaming, it makes it easier to put up ads. This is because it has more room for pop ups and ads on the borders of the screen.

In summary, no matter what type of console you use or how you see the ads, all of the marketing is displayed in great ways that will help to make the audience want to download the app. In this blog I talked about console, phone, and pc gaming.
