So this blog post may seem sorta like a rant but I promise it is not… at least not the entire time…

I have decided, overall I am not into the punk genre of music. I am not sure if it is just the samples of it I have heard, the annoying voices, or the grunge vibe, but punk is just not my thing. I think that overall I am pretty open to all genres of music and even when I think I cant find things I like I hear the background melodic material and decide though its not my favorite I can get along with this music.

Punk though…. there is just not much I can vibe with. One of my classmates described the singer’s voice in the song Gloria as annoying and I have to say though I will appreciate it as art I found it was also annoying. I would never go as far as to say I despise all punk and it has no place in music or anything like that, however, I would agree that though it is an art form it is not particularly my favorite and sounds a bit annoying.

The particular song I am talking about is pretty famous. I have included the link below. Though it does have some decent instrumental aspects I just cant stand the talking almost whining aspect of her voice which I think is kinda the point.

Either way, it is music and it is art, and though it may not be my favorite I respect it for what it is and the artist for their creation and addition to music history and our world and culture. Punk just is not my thing! Not judgement on those who it is though, you do you, live your own life, rock out or punk out or whatever you prefer!
