Many call music the universal language. When you think about it, it’s pretty accurate; it has it’s own written symbols, can be read, played, and spoken. Some call music the language of love, but it all comes down to what genres that one appreciates as all forms are unique. Making your own music, or just manipulating audio looks complicated from the outside in, but really it’s just a combination of practice and consistency.
Purposes of audio production can vary, with one purpose to act as a sample or vocal in a song and most others to create videos or vlogs. Hardware to make these things happen are available for purchase at reasonable prices on different markets. If you’re just starting out, I highly recommend to use cheap budget equipment as you continuously develop your skills in the trade, then consider using more professional equipment. Mics can range from small clip-ons, USB-bussed mics, or ones with independent stationary function. Bussed mics are ideal for YouTube or vlog videos since these are generally shorter than longer podcasts that one may also want to do. Once you have either of these mics the most important thing is to find a place that’s quiet to record.
Once done recording, the nest step is to edit the audio of your production on various platforms of software. Adobe Audition is great for vlogs, and podcasts, and in Adobe Premiere Pro you can adjust audio to fit and coincide with a video that you may have filmed. Fruity Loops (FL) Studio is considered one of the best music production software that one can get. There are different versions of this, though, that vary in the software’s capability. Autotuned and pitch editing are applications that many musicians look forward to using to fill a gap or to boost their production. All of these software, I’m sure, will look extremely complicated and migraine-educing, but it just looks that way because there is so much possible to do with a production! Watch the tutorial videos, each software has them installed with the programs, and look on YouTube for other helpful hints and strategies.
I hope this has been useful, and as always, team work makes the dream work.
