Cyberpunk 2077 subtrees cont.
We recently finished the Body and Reflexes attributes and subtrees. Today, I want to go over Intelligence, Technical ability, and cool.
Intelligence has breach protocol and quick hacking. Breach protocol increases system hacking options and extends the time of most hacks. Hacking in Cyberpunk 2077 can be system hacking which looks for information/shuts off devices on the network or quick hacking which allows hackers to hack people and objects within line of sight. The quick hacks have many in game variations ranging from damaging abilities, recon, and non-lethal. A unique take on abilities that in most RPGs would be set as “magic” rather than tech savviness.
Early levels in breach protocol increase resources gained from mining networks. Later levels increase the effectiveness of quick hacks and their utility.
Early quick hacks levels increase the damage of quick hacks and the utility of them. Some quick hacks can spread to close enemies, the range can be increased within quick hacks subtree.
Technical ability has some interesting gameplay mechanics that have recently been almost a standard in newer RPGs. Crafting your own armor, weapons, and miscellaneous equipment allow for a more realistic path through the game. Early levels allow users to create basic level equipment and weapons. Later levels allow the creation of the best equipment and increases the stats of that equipment.
The next subtree in technical ability is engineering. Engineering increases efficiencies with “tech” weapons and grenades. Early levels in engineering increase grenade damage and utility. Later levels in Engineering massive improve the damage tech weapons produce.
Our last attribute is cool with subtrees stealth and cold blood. My favorite style of play in almost every RPG must be a stealthy approach. As we see in the picture, I have spent a few skill points in the stealth subtree. Stealth at early levels offers increased damage to unaware targets. Later levels increase utility of stealth perks and increases damage of poison inflicting attacks.
The final subtree is cold blood. Cold blood is based off staying in combat and the more enemies defeated, the stronger you become (for a short amount of time). Early levels in cold blood increase resistances and allow for longer cold blood duration. Later levels massively increase resistances, damage, and utility of cold blood stacks.
