My name is Shantall Taylor , I was born September 4th 1994, which makes me 21 years of age. I was originally born in Middle Quarters, St. Elizabeth Jamaica but I moved to the United States July 7th 2000. I am currently a senior at Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a major in Communications Media with an emphasis in graphic design.
I’ve always been interested in graphic design since the 5th grade. It all started from my art class and learning about all kinds of art. I always did so well in my art classes and then at the time I was always surfing the web to learn about new things. So one day I just do happen to come across tutorials on this blogging site on how to use to Photoshop. I was instantly drawn to it because there was a picture of the final creations and i was amazed at how the person made a plain picture look so vibrant so pretty to look at. I started messing around with Photoshop and Corel Paint Shop Pro and ever since then I’ve been hooked.
The spring semester of my sophomore and junior year I had the privilege of being the Graphics Executive Chair of B.E.C (Black Emphasis Committee). B.E.C was the number one student ran programming board partnered with T.E.N (the Entertainment Network) at IUP. My job was to create all graphics for B.E.C to promote all the events they would be hosting on campus. This job was one of the greatest opportunities I’ve had while being at IUP, it gave me real life experience of dealing with deadlines, expanding my knowledge/ stepping out of my comfort zone with graphics, and learning how to take a lot of constructive criticism. This upcoming year I will be the Media Executive Chair of S.T.A.T.I.C (Student Activity Committee) which is B.E.C and T.E.N combined. So now I will be in charge of updating and creating any media associated with STATIC.
