IUP Sailing is an extracurricular activity and club sport at IUP. We are supported by a modest Co-op budget and student dues, in collaboration with the non-profit Friends of Yellow Creek.

In 2023, we were able to purchase three club FJ sailboats in coordination with FOYC, which also purchased three. This “new to us” fleet has enhanced our ability to introduce beginners to the sport and to train aspiring racers for sailing with their peers at other schools from Lake Erie to the Chesapeake.  Each year, our main expense is covering liability insurance.

Our wish list includes:

• Foul weather gear for sailors
• New sails
• PFD replacement and upgrade
