There is nothing more frustrating than trying to pick up where you left off with an image, only to have your tablet pressure settings start to malfunction. The worst part is that there seems to be many varied answers on how to fix the problem online, but most of them don’t. I am going to share with you how I learned to fix the pen pressure problem that I experienced using Photoshop. Please note, this fix only applies after you have gone onto your tablet settings and double checked that you’ve edited the pen sensitivity to the proper framework, made sure that you have the Other Dynamics box checked off in the brushes dock, and unplugged and re-plugged your tablet. For this fix I am using Windows 7, but I’ve seen it applied to windows 10 as well.
Alright, so the first thing you need you do is close out of Photoshop. The Second thing you need to look for is the Services function on your computer. For windows 7 the order goes Start Button>Control Panel>All Control Panel Options (In the tab)>Administrative Tools>Services. When in Services, you want to find the name of your tablet or tablet provider depending on what brand you’ve chosen. When you find the name, click it, and Hit the Restart button. This will restart your tablet drive. Afterwards close it out and re-open Photoshop. Your pen sensitivity should be back to normal and you can get back to work with your image.
I’ve seen some methods require that you shut your computer off and on, but I prefer doing it this way because it’s faster. What do you think? What method have you used to fix the problem that worked for you?
