The Path to Pilston Photography

Photography has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I started taking classes back in my sophomore year of high school, and have continued taking them throughout my four years of college. These classes ranged from editing classes to commercial photography, where I got to work in a professional style studio.

Before college photography was always just a fun hobby, but the past few years it has become a serious dream of mine. I have taken on jobs with expecting mothers, future graduates, and even infants. A few examples of these shoots are shown below. When I began these shoots I quickly realized how different it was photographing people versus inanimate objects. It can be a little uncomfortable at first and something you definitely need to get used to doing, but once you get the hang of it, there are so many more possibilities with people photography. Knowing how to pose your subject comes in handy because it makes your subject feel more at ease and comfortable during the shoot. You need to make sure you go into a shoot with different ideas and a plan to make sure your pictures turn out the way you want.

My goal is to advertise my photography and get my name out there to people who don’t know me. It has been nice to get experience from family and friends, but the more I can promote myself on social media the bigger my client base can become. I will show the process behind an actual shoot through videos and the end results (edited/non-edited) will be posted as well.
