Social media management tools are a great way to schedule posts, so information about your business can be sent to an audience at a specific date and time. These tools help people and businesses manage all of their profiles and pages in one place. It makes it a lot easier to control all social media platforms. Both Hootsuite and Buffer are the most popular social media management tools. There are many differences between the two tools.
Each site is free to use or there are different price options to unlock more features. Both allow up to three social media accounts on the free version and the ability to schedule a small number of posts each day. Upgrading to the Pro version for Buffer is fifteen dollars a month and Hootsuite is twenty-nine dollars a month. The Pro version of Buffer allows up to 100 posts per social media account and can add eight social media profiles. The Pro version of Hootsuite allows up to 50 social profiles and up to ten different users can manage those accounts. Buffer and Hootsuite both offer small business plan options. Buffer starts at $99 per month and Hootsuite starts at $129 per month.
Hootsuite offers more social network sites than Buffer. Both offer Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. As an added advantage, Hootsuite allows the management of WordPress blogs and YouTube channels. Hootsuite monitors social media feeds, Buffer does not. If a business wants to add more third-party apps then they should use Hootsuite, however, both support the major social network sites.
Hootsuite allows thirty scheduled posts, while Buffer allows ten scheduled posts. The Buffer Queue creates a custom schedule, that specifies when posts should be uploaded. The Queue is a great tool to use to control posts, or it can do all the work on its own. Hootsuite has AutoSchedule, which automatically picks a good time to schedule posts. AutoSchedule is great for not caring when posts go out or in what order, and it makes sure all the posts are not posted at the same time.
The business size and type depend on what social media management tool will benefit them best. Buffer is overall cheaper for a business; however, Hootsuite has more features at different paid plans. Hootsuite offers more social networks, but Buffer still offers the main social media networks. Buffer has a straight forward user experience, while Hootsuite has more features to enhance the usage. When choosing to use Hootsuite or Buffer every small business should outweigh the pros and cons and decide which social media management tool is best for them.
