Happy Tuesday Everyone! Hopefully you are thriving through this week. The holiday weekend will be here soon enough!
In today’s post, I’m going to talk about the issue of showing tattoos in the work place.
Tattoos are super common—everyone knows someone that has at least one. Tattoos are also becoming more commonly allowed in professional environments. (It is 2017 after all.) In the office I work in, though it is a corporate environment, we are allowed to have our tasteful tattoos in plain sight.
But how do you know if you are allowed to wear a sleeveless top if you have an upper arm tattoo? What about open shoes if you have a foot tattoo?
There are a few ways of finding these answers.
1. Check your company’s website. Depending on the place, they may have their dress code listed somewhere on their site.
2. Send an email to HR and ask them the question. They’ll know better than anyone.
3. Take a look around you. Does the girl you sit next to let her giant rose tattoo show every day? If so, it might be ok for you as well.
Tattoos are accessories after all, so why not show them off if your company allows them to be seen!
Does your work place allow you to put tattoos on display?
