Happy Monday night everyone! We made it through the first day of a new week.
I don’t know about you, but my Monday was particularly dreary and gray with a side of lightning.
When dressing for work this morning, I had no idea it was supposed to rain later on in the day. Because of this, I did not plan accordingly. By 5pm when it was time for me to head home, the sky was dark and the rain was coming down heavily. Man did I wish I had rain boots/ an umbrella/ a waterproof bag/ teleportation device.
So today, instead of focusing on outfits, I want to focus on work wear accessories- rainy day addition.
We all know how it happens. The rain comes down and we realize the umbrella we keep in the car is, well, in the car. So now what?
PLAN AHEAD MY FRIENDS!
Escaping nasty weather is very doable if we put our pre-planning skills into action.
- Keep a personal sized umbrella at your desk. At all times! No excuses.
- Keep a plastic grocery bag at your desk for things you absolutely cannot get wet.
- It’s summer! Have rain boots? Depending how far your walk is from office to car/ bus stop, keep those stored under your desk as well, odds are you wont need them much from June- August anyways!
- Not weather based, but mints are a great thing to keep at your desk as well! (Especially if you are an avid coffee drinker like me!)
- An obvious tip, but check the weather! We all have smart phones in 2017, try to check quickly before leaving your home in the morning, it takes 10 seconds!
I have to start following these tips as well, it would have saved me from flat ironing my hair if I would have remembered an umbrella.
But of course we can master these tips in style.
A cute, compact umbrella can be found here!
Great rain boots for a steal can be found here!
Download The Weather Channel app, if you don’t already have it! (I find it to be more reliable than the weather app that comes on iPhones!)
