It is not easy to always representing Greek life. That part of your life follows you all around as long as people know you are Greek. Some policies must be followed and enforced when trying to promote something that involves your fraternity or members of the fraternity. There are ways in which promoting a Greek organization can be good or bad. Making sure you know what your organization and school will allow you to promote your organization in a way that does not negatively impact or portrays a bad light is important.
I am looking to expand my organization in my final semester, but also make sure the brothers who are already members continue to remember as to why we all joined in the first place. I want to collaborate with different schools and make something epic for the year or 2020. I would like to be able to get brothers from all over to showcase their best strolls and make a collab video with it. I would like to travel with my brothers to different campuses and help them with performances and get video footage for them to give them something to showcase for their respective chapters and college campus.
Planning something like this can be stressful because of the amount of planning and consistency that goes into making productions like that. You have factors such as attendance, weather on days of events, making sure there isn’t any equipment failure and other things. Making sure you have backups for everything will always come in handy because it’s better to be safe than sorry.
I will be showing a lot of support this semester by traveling when I can and recording everything brothers do that would look good for a video. This also helps you build a portfolio of work that you can show to a future employer. I will be using my skills of video production and editing skills to put together a portfolio of work that I can also give brothers access to so they can use for practice for shows.
Making sure I show support in the way I know besides performing is helpful for me. I want to show my work as I continue to progress in the field. I am hoping that this work will be useful not just to my brothers but to others who read these and want to figure out a plan for their skills and an easy way to progress.
