Sports Photography and the importance of it

What we do is important. What we do inspires people. Children who are inspired by our work, grow up to be the next Michael Jordan. You can find sports photography everywhere you look from social media platforms to the posters hanging up on your child’s wall.

I too was a child once inspired by the work I saw. The greatest picture I have ever laid my eyes on was the picture of Michael Jordan dunking from the foul line at the All-Star game. This single photograph has inspired millions of children that anything is possible with hard work and determination. For me, this photograph inspired me to capture more of these cultures defining moments. I want my work to inspire the children of the next generation.

Sports photography is so rewarding because of how important it is. After every one of my football games and track and field meets, I would impatiently wait for the photographers to upload my pictures. Of course, at this point, I had no idea the amount of time and work it took to get those photos ready. These photos that were taken of me and my highlights made me feel good. They made me feel accomplished and I always posted them to social media to show off to my friends.

Among all else, your work as a sports photographer will not go unnoticed. If you have never tried getting into sports photography but have a feeling that you would want to try, then ask your local high school to take pictures on the sidelines. Most people wouldn’t have a problem with this. Don’t forget to have a fast shutter speed so that way you can stop motion blur.

What is your favorite type of photography? What got you inspired to start taking photos? Let me know down in the comments. Don’t forget to check out my other blog posts and my YouTube channel.
