NBA Players

Every year, hundreds of NBA players spend hours dedicating their time to perfect their craft which happens to be basketball. They are constantly looking to improve every offseason to be the best version of themselves both physically and mentally in order to succeed on the court. There are various different factors that contribute to an NBA player’s success or downfall in any given season. And certain players I believe will either go above their expectations or do a lot worse this upcoming season compared to last year. So, I am going to give my thoughts on who I believe will succeed and digress this season.

If a player is consistently playing at a high level over the past few seasons, then it’s inevitable to assume that they will continue their success this year. This applies to a few players in mind. One happens to be Luke Doncic, who won rookie of the year in 2019 and averaged nearly 30 points a game last year. I think he will continue ti improve being that he is a solidified number one option on his team and the Mavericks have won of the best scoring offenses in the NBA. Another player who I believe will go above their expectations is Kelly Oubre Jr. Last year Oubre averaged 18 points per game. He was a third option on the Suns last year, which limited the amount of minutes and shots he was able to take. But since he got traded to the Warriors, he is now a reliable second option with a much more significant role. He has really elevated his jump shot and I believe he will really succeed this year.

Some players who really showed out over the past few years sometimes tend to digress. A player who I believe fills this category is Steph Curry. Arguably one of the greatest point guards to ever live, Steph Curry posses all the traits a point guard could ever want. But he is coming off of a broken wrist in his dominant hand, and that can really affect a point guard’s ability to accurately shoot the ball. I believe he will digress significantly as he is still recovering from this injury. Another player I see who will not play as well is Ben Simmons of the 76er’s. Ben Simmons is an excellent player who is skilled and averaged 16 points a game last year. He is becoming a very predictable player with his lack of versatility and will suffer because of this. He will also be double teamed being that he is a number one option on his team which is why I believe he will digress.

There are numerous reasons why some players can succeed above expectations. If they improved their endurance or overall body composition, then it will help them stay healthy and help with their endurance which will allow them to play more minutes in-game that provides them with more opportunities. If players are put in different situations and play different roles this allows them to have an easier time scoring and fitting in with their job, which will positively impact their game. Now players can also digress for various different reasons. If they are coming off an injury, then it is relatively hard for them to establish a rhythm at first making it hard to get into sync and play at 100%.

My best recommendation for players to improve their game is to constantly work on it. You really can only get better at something if you constantly work at it. Nobody is perfect, and even professional basketball players will admit that they need to always work on some aspect of their game. So improving every aspect of their game will make them a lot more valuable to their team and will improve their stats on the court.

And I really want to hear what my viewers have to say. I leave you guys with a few questions: Which players do you believe will succeed or digress this season?
