Winner of The Great Golden MacGuffin Award (Spring 2023)
For my media aesthetics (COMM 150) class, we were assigned into groups and tasked with making a video of an Aesop Fable from scratch. At the end of the semester, it was shown to a class of first-grade students and they voted on which video they liked the most. I helped write the script, create the storyboard, and acted for this project. As a result of our collective efforts, we won 1st place and “Outstanding Team Performance”. You can find the final script here.
“Mylo’s Bees” Social Media Ad Campaign: This is a two-week social media ad campaign for a fake cleaning company called “Mylo’s Bees” that I made for my persuasive media writing class (COMM 315). I made the advertisements, wrote their captions, and described the campaign’s target audience and main goals.
News Releases: These are two separate press releases I wrote for my persuasive media writing class (COMM 315). The first one was for Mylo’s Bees again, where I had to inform the Pittsburgh-area that a new CEO has been appointed as the head of the company. The second press release was to inform the communications media and media production students that new equipment for the audio lab is now available, courtesy of the Folger family. The purpose of these is to demonstrate my prowess for traditional forms of communication.
IUP Radio Proposal: This is a promotional campaign for the my college radio station, WIUP-FM. I worked in a group with three others for my media management and sales class. The end result was a Clue inspired murder mystery, lead by a live DJ. It details the promotional materials for this campaign and how this project would proceed.
“Guess Who?” Media Campaign: This is a complete advertising campaign for my advertising class where I worked in a group to create a new way to promote the classic game, “Guess Who?”. We devised a plan to bring in more relevant figures to guess, and did market research on the brand itself to gain an idea of how to market the product. You can find the written study here and the PowerPoint presentation here.
News Package: For my TV production class, we were tasked with doing a news story to possibly show on the 9:00 news. I did my news story on the students at IUP who started their own businesses while attending school. I filmed, narrated, and edited this project.
The T.M.I. Podcast – EP 1: Situations That Look Like Relations: For my Digital Storytelling class, we were assigned into groups to create a podcast. For this project, we recorded audio using our phones, and then I edited the clips using Adobe Audition. I used Adobe Audition to remove background noise, edit in sound effects, as well as implement an intro/outro that faded in and out.
