“The Allegheny County Office of Marketing & Special Events offers seasonal paid and for-credit internships to support the department in producing high-quality events and cultural programming across the county and within the Allegheny County Parks. The office helps raise public awareness of county events, activities, and initiatives through marketing, advertising, and social media. The office oversees the marketing of Hartwood Acres Mansion, Hartwood Acres Stables, County Courthouse, County Office Building, and other county-owned facilities as event venues.”

Responsibilities:

  • Take lead responsibility for pre-production, production, and post-production of various multimedia projects as assigned
  • Research pre-determined projects and brainstorm production ideas
  • Create and schedule timelines
  • Write scripts
  • Set up and break down video and audio equipment for interviews and event documentation
  • Operate camera and microphones, and gather B-roll material
  • Import, organize, transfer and back up recorded footage and audio
  • Log footage, transcribe interviews and prepare edit decision lists
  • Work with graphic designer on special graphics
  • Research and obtain music
  • Coordinate voice overs with talent

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently
  • Training in videography and photography
  • Professional communication and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with editing software

Responsibilities

Content Creation & Marketing Support

  • Assist with writing, editing, and publishing social media content to promote WCIDC projects, industrial parks, and partner businesses.

Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook) and content management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is a plus.
  • Video editing experience (optional); familiarity with tools like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Interest in economic development, commercial/industrial real estate, or public-sector marketing is a bonus.
