The worst part about the 21st century is our constant need to be on the go. Every once in a while, I’d like to just sit back and PAUSE my life.

It is not particularly easy to cut down the work load when each activity is of equal importance. As members of this society, the more activities we are involved in, the more valuable we become to a potential employer. Involving yourself in various activities expands your social and potential professional circles. However, if your work load is causing your patience to evaporate, it’s probably time to prioritize those activities.

Ask yourself:
Does this activity benefit my career? If the activity isn’t going to help you better yourself in your career, is it worth the hassle? Does this activity bring me joy? If the overall thought of that activity brings you stress, is it really helping you at all?
If one of your activities is bringing the rest of your day down, get rid of it. Employers want a happy and well-organized multitasker, not someone barely holding their schedule together.
Maybe you’re not ready to cut anything out of your schedule. Ask for help! I meet so many people carrying such a large work load and they’re just too scared to ask for help. You might be surprised in how many people are willing to aid you.

There is no shame in cutting your work load to make room for your priorities, just don’t forget what those priorities are. Success and happiness go together in my mind. Have you ever made the decision to cut something out of your life and saw positive results?
