I‘ve decided to continue with my 21st century burdens theme.
Problem #3 Smart Phones

There are many things I could list that I love about smart phones but right now we need to focus on the problems. I absolutely cannot stand how the smart phone industry has become essentially monopolized. Someone not educated in the field of smart devices knows there are only two providers: Apple and Samsung. (Google did just launch a phone but we’ll see where that goes.) So there’s like two to choose from, they change adapters and chargers with different models and if you don’t have one, you’re an outsider of our society.

How can we fix the smart phone problem?
– Get a cell phone not a smart phone. Save the smart activities for your laptop or MacBook and             go back to simpler times where a phone was meant to talk to someone. A lot of people are                   making the switch back to a cell phone to cut back on their screen time.
– Try the new model from Google. Give another company a shot at leveling the playing field in             the smart phone business. They could surprise you and be super consistent with their products.
– Research your provider. See who is coming out with a new model within the next two years               and make the decision if it is worth it to invest in a product now or wait for the next one.

My recommendation: research is key. It’s impossible to be blind sided when you do your homework. I recently aquired the iPhone 7 and Apple has taken away the headphone jack for this model. There are a new form of headphones that work only on the new model. I knew the model I was about to purchase had changed and I made the investment to go ahead and buy it anyway because I know Apple is going to continue using the same size adapter. Have you ever made a decision on a smart phone without doing your research? I had a Samsung once.. for like a month..
