The 2019-2020 NBA season is going to be one of the best seasons to date. There has been so many drastic off-season changes across the league. Paul George left Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Clippers. Kawhi Leonard won a ring in Toronto and left to join the Clippers. Chris Paul got traded from the Rockets to the Thunder. Russell Westbrook got traded from the Thunder to the Rockets. But the most important move of them all was Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers. He joined Lebron James and created one of the best 1 2 tandems in NBA history! Which makes me believe the Lakers will win the NBA championship. This is essentially important because it will help stamp Lebron James as the greatest player in NBA history.
Lebron James has faced plenty of scrutiny in his NBA career. People saying “you’ll never be better than Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant” or “he brought his rings”. You can say what you want about Lebron James but he is one of the greatest players ever. The Lakers were faced with difficult tasks last year. Players publicly asking for trades, Lebron first year with the team, amd dealing with young players. Lebron also got injured for the Lakers last season which helped derail there season.
To prove his critics wrong this year; he made the Lakers front office trade for Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis is a 6’11 freak of nature. He’s extremely tall but can dribble like a point guard, shoot like a shooting guard, pass like a playmaker, and defend like no other. He is a top five player in his own right. So you add a player like Anthony Davis to a team that has Lebron James expectations will be through the roof! Plus Lebron is looking for revenge against his critics this year who thinks he lost a step or two entering year 17.
I believe Lebron James and Anthony Davis will be too much for the rest of the NBA to handle. I believe they come out of the west and go to the finals. When they go to the Finals I believe they will beat any team that comes out of the East. You have two MVP candidates on one team. That is extremely lethal. Lebron James averaged 27 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists last year. Anthony Davis averaged 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists last year. These two will be scary for exposing teams next season. Which make me believe the Lakers will end being NBA champions.
