Biography

Born March 16th 2o00 to my mother Janeen and father Rick Cardona. I started my young years with wild hair and no worries. That lasted for about two years until a brother joined our party of now 4. Life was just getting started and then yet again another brother joined the mix. Now a family of five we were taking over the town. I became a multisport athlete with the constant support of every single person in my family. I found a love of traveling to the beach and constantly having salty hair and sandy toes.

Travelling took a slow to my basketball career that was suddenly taking off. I joined the high school varsity team as a freshman and won a district championship while simultaneously making it to the final four of the State Tournament two times; all within the four years, I attended High School. While in High School I worked at Rita;s Italian Water Ice as my first professional job. I was taught teamwork, leadership, and communication in the workplace rather than on a basketball court.

During my senior year of High School, I was given the National Scholar-Athlete Award presented to me by The United States Army Reserve. In addition, I received the Girl of The Month Award presented to me by the Women’s Club of Indian Valley. To end my senior year of high school I was given the opportunity to sign a National Letter of Intent to continue my basketball career at the next level.

Now my days are filled with attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania while playing for the Women’s Basketball Team on campus approaching my Junior Year.  I have accomplished making the Dean’s List every semester so far at IUP. In addition, while being on the Women’s Basketball team we have won a PSAC championship as well as a trip to the NCAA Division Two National Championship Tournament. I look forward to continuing and finishing my basketball career at IUP alongside some of my closest friends. I dream of picking back up the traveling part of my life and living the best life I can preferably near the beach to reclaim something that I love and have missed out on.
